Recently, Yap State has started accepting bids for the development of a GED Testing Center. TYO wanted to be help share this opportunity with the Tamil community. In Yap, students are only required to take courses through eighth grade. For many reasons - like a need to help around the household - students are unable to complete their education.
We acquired the latest GED textbooks and organized a GED class, meeting twice a week to cover the various parts of the text. It is taught by one of the teachers at Tamilang Elementary School. This course will run for a minimum of one year, and
then the students will be given the opportunity to take the GED test, all expenses paid.
The GED Course is open to any student who was unable to finish their education but desires equivalency.
